Area Meetings

One of the most significant benefits of being a member of the NYSJA are the networking opportunities presented by attending an Area Meeting. The meetings are held throughout the state during the year, so that local members and their employees can attend without having to travel a great distance. The meetings are interactive educational seminars with topics such as “Holiday Selling”; “Smooth Selling” and how to handle sensitive PR issues. Techniques for determining customer needs and wants, handling customer objections, and building rapport with the customer are all presented in detail and with question and answer sessions. Store Security is also a topic that is thoroughly discussed at the meetings- including the latest cons, thefts and credit card scams.

Executive Committee Meetings

Executive Committee Meetings are held once a month. The Executive Committee determines the direction and the growth of the organization. These meetings are for the Executive Committee only.

Board Meetings

Board Meetings are bi-annual and are held in conjunction with the JA NY shows. These meetings are open to the General Board only. This group discusses strategies for the upcoming year and reviews the previous six months activities including: Financials; Budgets; Area Meetings; Awards Dinner etc.
