NYSJA had a fabulous Centennial Celebration this year on
July 25, 2009 at the elegant Mandarin Oriental Hotel. There
were many prominent jewelry industry guests in attendance
as well as several celebrities. Marvin Scott, from WPIX CW-11
was the Master of Ceremonies. Yankee player Johnny Damon
was on hand to receive the donations from the proceeds of
the auctions to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).
The live and silent auctions held during the event generated
over $37,000 for the WWP who were extremely grateful for the
donation. The NYSJA Board of Directors would like to
extend a "heartfelt thank you" to all who donated, attended,
advertised, and assisted with our fabulous Centennial Celebration.
Be sure and visit the website and view the historical
video that was shown during the event. Photos from the
event are also available via the website: www.newyorkjewelers.org.
Regards,
Barbara

To celebrate it's Centennial
year, NYSJA chose to honor the Wounded Warrior
Project (WWP), which is a non-profit organization that
is dedicated to assisting the veterans of the Iraq and
Afghanistan wars in overcoming their injuries and helping
them return to civilian life. All proceeds raised during
the Centennial Celebration event were presented to the
WWP at Yankee Stadium on September 8, 2009.

Due to the phenomenal support and generosity
of the Jewelry Industry NYSJA raised over $37,000 at the
Centennial Celebration to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
